Well just got back from a wild trip driving, mountain biking, running trip around 6 states in the USA. Drove from Vancouver to San Fransisco. Did a wicked Mtn bike race in Cool California about 80 km East of San Fran and very close to Auburn. Results here....... http://www.auburnbikeworks.com/pdf/Cool%20Race%20Results%202007.doc.pdf

I placed 5Th in sport age division. What an incredible race............such a great course and well organised and so much swag was given out........almost everyone got something. Went on to Bakerfield and then to Death Valley in which we rode from Furnace Creek to Badwater(lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level) and took in lots of side roads on way back. It was nice and hot and incredible views.
Next stop was Vegas and Hoover Dam(where we got in trouble from the police for trying to run across the dam wall) then to Grand Canyon to run North rim to South rim of the canyon.
Plans had to be changed as the road to North rim(the last 40 miles was closed) s0 we drove to south rim and ran to bottom of canyon and back. That was so good, it was hot and the Angel trail starts with a 6 mile descent then flattens out a bit then goes down some more. It was a 4 hour return trip running most of the way except 10 mins where it got really hard and I just about blew a valve.
After the canyon run we drove back to San Fran via Vegas. We did some awesome riding around San Fran and surrounds taking in the bridge and Hawk hill and all the rides around there.
Flew back to Vancouver and then drove back to Penticton where I sit and think what a trip.

Hi there,
I'm SO bad, one day I'll have to update my blog too but..... Anyway, Kirk you make me envious!! Those are awesome photo's, guess your time off earlier hasn't really slowed you down AT ALL!! I'm itchin' to go on holidays too but...think we may head out skiing for part of the Spring break, (first week in April) Matthew didn't want to go "South"!! :( Will still be fun tho, not sure where we're headed for yet! Him and the team are on their way home from Provincials (for hockey), the season is now over :) altho still fun ice time for April.
See you in Vancouver....yikes, of course with all our snow again, haven't done near what I should be doing but....there are a few of us and we're just going to have fun :)
Cheers, Esther
